PROJECT
In the gardens of Villa Erba in Cernobbio, during Orticolario, we designed and curated for DoDo a space that celebrates nature. Inspired by the tropical forests of Mauritius, the homeland of the DoDo emblem, the project connected seamlessly with the 2025 theme: the Garden of Eden.
Our concept, The Secret Life of Charms, set the narrative pace of the space and the experience. Welcoming visitors at the entrance, the Table of Wonders sparked curiosity and encouraged a sense of exploration, presenting glass vials, sketches, travel journals, and charms of tropical animals and flowers displayed as small treasures waiting to be uncovered.
This idea of discovery informed every design decision. Exotic plants and flowers, natural interior elements, and a soundscape echoing the forest helped create an intimate and enveloping atmosphere. A flower-design workshop focused on composing bouquets with exotic blooms, together with live watercolor painting of the charms, enriched the experience by offering opportunities for creative engagement and shared storytelling.
A refined balance of visual narrative and sensory details naturally attracted visitors, making the space one of the most visited at Orticolario.
